ADL dismisses San Francisco anti-circumcision comic Foreskin Man as anti-semitic (PHOTOS)
Anti-Defamation League (ADL) has called Matthew Hees’ anti-circumcision comic “Foreskin Man” offensive and anti-Semitic, even as debate is raging on in San Francisco whether to ban circumcision or not.
Hees, the president of MGMBillOrg, has produced the comic book to stop the practice of circumcision, which the group calls male genital mutilation (MGM).
It is still widely considered to be legal in this country to mutilate a boy's genitals in the name of social custom, hygiene, religion, or any other reason. This is true despite the well documented lifelong damage that male circumcision causes each of its victims, Hess said.
In the comic, an Orthodox Jewish-looking Mohels is depicted as “rapacious, bloodthirsty and bent on harming children.”
ADL has criticized the comic as being offensive and anti-Semitic.
