Adobe CS6 Release: New Features For The Creative Suite Product Line, Creative Cloud Soon To Debut [VIDEO]

Adobe Systems Inc. (NASDAQ: ADBE) announced the official release of its Adobe Creative Suite 6 and Adobe Creative Cloud software, on Monday, May 07.

Included in the new powerful line of products, available now, are updated versions of Photoshop, InDesign, lllustrator, Dreamweaver, Adobe Premiere Pro, After Effects and Flash Professional and other products, as well as four suite versions -- Creative Suite 6 Design & Web Premium; Creative Suite 6 Design Standard; Creative Suite 6 Production Premium; and Creative Suite 6 Master Collection.

We announced Creative Cloud and CS6 two weeks ago and these releases have caught the imagination of the creative everywhere, David Wadhwani, senior vice president of Digital Media Business for Adobe, said in a statement.

Adobe CS6, the ultimate toolkit for design, web and video professionals, includes a total of 14 new updated applications.

Creatives get a ton of innovation across CS6, with milestone releases of all our flagship products, the Senior VP said, in an earlier statement.

New features for the CS6 product line include new levels of performance with tools that take advantage of Adobe Mercury Graphics functionality, a technology that allows users to make their ideas a reality faster than ever before.

Adobe CS6 also features enhanced user interfaces that vastly simplify workflows, so users can focus on their content and achieve results quicker.

For the new and improved line, Adobe is also introducing new capabilities for the applications that streamline the creation of responsive content, ensuring websites and apps look great across virtually all screen sizes and form factors.

Remarkable new science, integrated into imaging and video applications round out the new features of Adobe CS6, as it makes previously impossible tasks suddenly possible.

While all of the above programs are now available for purchase and download, Adobe's Creative Cloud software is said to available on Friday, May 11.

Today we're shipping CS6 and look forward to the beginning of an exciting new era as we introduce Creative Cloud later this week, Wadhwani said.

Creative Cloud, Adobe's new subscription-based offering, is a hub for making, sharing and delivering creative work. By signing up for a Creative Cloud membership, users will have access to download and install all CS6 applications, new HTML5 desktop products - Adobe Muse 1.0 and Adobe Edge preview - and deep integration with Adobe Touch Apps.

Also included in the Adobe Creative Cloud software is integrated website publishing capabilities and easy storage and sharing of content across desktops and mobile devices.

Adobe CS6 products are estimated to sell at $2,599 for the CS6 Master Collection, $1,899 for CS6 Production Premium, $1,899 for CS6 Design & Web Premium, and $1,299 for CS6 Design Standard.

Potential users can avoid paying the lumps sums for the software by taking advantage of Adobe Creative Cloud. Membership is available to users in 36 countries and in multiple languages for $49.99 per month based on annual membership and $74.99 per month for month-to-month membership.
