‘The Affair’ Season 3 Spoilers: Episode 5 Synopsis Released; Alison And Noah Reunite [VIDEO]
Alison and Noah will come face to face in next Sunday’s episode of Showtime’s “The Affair.” Season 3, episode 4 ended with Alison running into her estranged husband as she was leaving the beach, and although it looked like she kept pedaling to get as far away from him as possible, a sneak peek and synopsis reveal that the two end up spending some quality time together.
In one teaser video (above) Alison (Ruth Wilson) is seen riding her bike back home when she spots someone driving by in a car. It’s Noah (Dominic West), her estranged husband. Alison stops, and Noah gets out the car telling Alison that he wanted to surprise her and come see her. He also tells her that he’s been shot, but Alison says she’s heard the news already. Alison doesn’t want to be seen in public with Noah and gives him an address telling him to meet her there in 15 minutes.
According to a synopsis of next week’s episode, via TV Guide, viewers will also see Noah struggling with a few issues he’s trying to deal with. The synopsis also teases that Alison may have a hidden agenda behind wanting to see Noah again. “Alison is motivated to spend a memorable day with Noah on Block Island for an unusual reason,” it reads. “The excursion results in a profound connection, but Noah is left wistful and the problems he was escaping return with shocking force.”
In another sneak peek of episode 5 (below), Cole (Joshua Jackson) stops by Alison’s home and tells her that they can’t sleep together again. Cole reminds Alison that he’s married and says he’s not going to leave his wife and he doesn’t want to hurt Luisa (Catalina Sandino Moreno) the way she hurt him when she cheated with Noah.
Cole also tells Alison that he doesn’t want what happened between to “derail” her, and Alison thinks Cole is trying to call her crazy. Cole waves the white flag telling Alison that he knows how hard she’s worked to get her life back together, and he thinks she should get joint custody of their daughter, Joanie.
A short preview gives a little more insight into Cole and Alison’s conversation. Alison wants Cole to help her get joint custody by telling the judge that she’s “emotionally sound enough to take care of Joanie.” When Cole doesn’t seem onboard with that plan, Alison asks him if he thinks she’s healthy enough to sleep with but not healthy enough to take care of their daughter.
“The Affair” Season 3 airs Sundays at 10 p.m. EST on Showtime.
