'Agents Of SHIELD' Season 2 Spoilers: 4 Things We Learned About The Premiere From The New Trailer [VIDEO]
There is a new promo out for “Marvel’s Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.” Season 2 and Coulson makes it clear that S.H.I.E.L.D. has been forever changed. After last season’s Hydra infiltration and Coulson’s promotion to director, it was pretty clear that the organization was going to undergo modifications. How can they function when they're on the run? Find out what changes we discovered in the promo for Season 2:
S.H.I.E.L.D. Goes Underground
At the end of “Captain America: The Winter Soldier,” it was clear that S.H.I.E.L.D. was not supposed to exist anymore. The government was investigating high-level agents like Natasha Romanov and Maria Hill, and the public didn’t seem to trust the organization. The promo emphasizes the idea that S.H.I.E.L.D. will still exist, but it has to stay under the radar. “We disappear, become ghosts,” Coulson says. “That’s how we have to live now: in the shadows, to protect the innocent.”
Small S.H.I.E.L.D., Big Action
A smaller organization does not mean smaller action scenes. The promo is filled with explosions, gun shots and car accidents. While some of it was footage from last season, there are still plenty of new action shots. However, some things never change. One of the clearest action shots has Melinda May kicking a guy in the face, so it looks like her reputation as S.H.I.E.L.D.’s toughest agent will live on.
Skye and Ward
Grant Ward is shown in the trailer for just a moment. It looks like he is in a holding cell somewhere while Skye visits him. She looks distraught when she turns away from Ward. Is that angst from the betrayal of a friend or a lover? The scene could indicate that Ward’s relationship with Skye will be explored in “Marvel’s Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.” Season 2.
Triplett Is On The Team
While everyone kind of figured that Agent Triplett would be working with the new S.H.I.E.L.D. team, no one can ever assume with Marvel. Many fans will be happy to see him with May and Skye in what looks like a covert mission. Though some fans rooting for Fitzsimmons might not be thrilled.
