Things are getting quite complicated on “Marvel’s Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.” Season 2. In episode 15, Coulson’s (Clark Gregg) headquarters were infiltrated by Gonzales’ (Edward James Olmos) team. He escaped, but much of his team didn’t. Don't expect Coulson to be lounging around in Tahiti this week though. He’ll be working to get his team back, according to the episode 16 synopsis.

Gonzales “makes his move,” according to the synopsis, but it isn’t clear what that means. Now that he has control over Coulson’s facility, he technically can do whatever he wants. However, Coulson likely won’t be gone for long. He “must do whatever it takes to protect the future of S.H.I.E.L.D.,” the summary for "Afterlife" teases.

He’ll try to protect S.H.I.E.L.D., but will he be able to protect Skye (Chloe Bennet)? The powerful agent isn’t with the rest of the team, and it seems like she might be hard to find.

Skye will be adjusting to her new surroundings. After Bobbi’s (Adrianne Palicki) team came tried to shoot her, she left with Gordon (Jamie Harris). He said he would take her to a place where she could learn to control her powers with others like her. Skye will meet “the enigmatic Inhuman named Lincoln,” the synopsis says. Lincoln (Luke Mitchell) is a much-anticipated character from the Inhumans comics.

Skye will also try to learn to control her powers, but Gordon’s methods might scare her. In the promo video for next week’s episode, Skye doesn’t seem to want to be at the facility. She wants to go back and help her friends. Yet, she might be safer with strangers as May realizes that Gonzales wants “to put down Coulson and Skye.”
