‘Agents Of SHIELD’ Season 2 Spoilers: Will Someone Die In The Finale? Find Out Who Wants Ward Dead
Prepare to lose some more characters in the “Marvel’s Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.” Season 2 finale. The drama has already featured one shocking death this season with Triplett’s (BJ Britt) midseason finale death, but it seems “S.H.I.E.L.D.” might up the body count in episodes 21 and 22.
The two-hour finale, airing May 12, will include “shocking sacrifices that will leave their relationships and their world changed forever,” the synopsis says. At this point, the team doesn’t really have anyone aside from each other, which makes us think that sacrifice will likely be a death.
Elizabeth Henstridge hinted that Ward (Brett Dalton) won’t be safe if he comes near her character, Simmons. When Ward was taken out of S.H.I.E.L.D. and handed over to the FBI earlier this season, Simmons promised she would kill the double agent if she ever saw him again.
“Simmons meant what she said,” Henstridge told Entertainment Weekly. “She hates him so much. He did the worst thing possible to her and took away the most precious thing in her life, which is Fitz.”
At the end of Season 1, Ward put Fitz and Simmons in an airtight cell and dropped them to the bottom of the ocean. Simmons escaped unscathed, but Fitz has permanent brain damage. Of course, Simmons isn’t the only one who wants Ward dead. In episode 18, Fitz (Iain De Caestecker) nearly attacked Ward, but Hunter (Nick Blood) held him back.
Also, Skye (Chloe Bennet) shot Ward four times when she and Coulson (Clark Gregg) were looking for the alien city, and May (Ming-Na Wen) shot him with a nail gun last year. Needless to say, Ward does not have any friends at S.H.I.E.L.D., so it seems like he would be the most obvious one to die if someone who works for Coulson has to go.
Yet the “Marvel’s Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.” Season 2 finale might throw audiences a curveball. The synopsis also warns of “a war that blurs the line between friend and foe.” Ward might not be distrusted for long, and that “shocking sacrifice” could instead be a loss -- or multiple losses -- no one sees coming.
“Marvel’s Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.” Season 2 airs Tuesdays at 9 p.m. EDT on ABC. Do you think Ward will die? Sound off in the comments section below!
