‘Agents Of SHIELD’ Season 3 Spoilers: See Skye’s New Daisy Johnson Haircut; How Short Is Quake’s Hair?
“Marvel’s Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.” Season 3 is going to reveal a whole new Skye (Chloe Bennet). At San Diego Comic-Con, it was revealed that Skye would start going by her birth name, Daisy Johnson (a.k.a. Quake). It seems it won’t just be a name change. The actress has chopped off her long locks to look more like the comic book character as well. She teased the cut last week, and she finally revealed the new look on Monday.
The actress didn’t necessarily want to cut her hair into Daisy’s pixie cut from the comics. “The comic book version of Daisy Johnson has very short, Miley Cyrus-esque hair,” Bennet told People. “We wanted to stay true to the comic book character fans love; I wanted to please them but also make sure there was still some movement and length and sexiness in the hair.”
Bennet is aware of the fact that she doesn’t look exactly like her character in the comics. Aside from the hair, Bennet acknowledged that she also lacks some other assets. “Daisy in the books also has, like, a 12-pack and like triple, double D t------, so there’s gonna be some [changes] … We’ll see,” Bennet teased to ComicBook.com earlier this month. “I want to stay true to the character, but I also want – she is different from who she is in the comic books. So I think we’re going to do something a little bit edgier.”
However, the 23-year-old actress was a little afraid of going too short. “It was crazy. I cried a little bit, to be honest, and definitely had some anxiety,” she told People. “I should have brought tequila with me. 100 percent.” Luckily, she loves how the new ‘do turned out.
The shorter locks might be better for fighting, which it sounds like Daisy could be doing quite a bit of in “Marvel’s Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.” Season 3. According to a new summary from Marvel, “Director Coulson will search the world for more powered people and assemble an extraordinary new team to deal with threats unlike the world has ever seen. However, the Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. will soon find out they're not the only ones tracking down these new Inhumans.” It looks like Daisy will have to fight some enemies if she wants the Secret Warriors to come together.
“Marvel’s Agents Of S.H.I.E.L.D.” Season 3 premieres Tuesday, Sept. 29, at 9 p.m. EDT. Do you like the haircut or should she have gone just as short as the comic book version? Sound off in the comments section below!
