Those who watched “Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker,” may have noticed a voice cameo from Ahsoka Tano, one of the characters from the animated series “The Clone Wars.” Even though she was one of the force spirits who spoke to Rey towards the end of the film, it may be possible that she’s not actually dead like the rest of the featured Jedi.

“The Clone Wars” creator Dave Filoni posted an image on his Instagram page that may suggest that Anakin Skywalker’s former Padawan might not be dead after all. In the illustration, Ahsoka is spotted along with “Lord of the Rings” character Gandalf the Grey telling her, “People thought I was dead, too. Look how that turned out…” The post was actually wishing fans Happy Holidays from the “Star Wars” writer. However, this image may get people excited to learn about the fate of this fan-favorite character.

We last encountered Ahsoka during the final season of “Star Wars Rebels” where she teamed up with bounty hunter Sabine Wren to locate their ally, Ezra Bridger. Ahsoka was confirmed to be alive in the series after her season two face-off against Darth Vader left her fate unknown for a while. Fans may get to see her return to the “Star Wars” story when the final season of “The Clone Wars” drops on Disney Plus in February. The character has also been the main character in her own novel, which depicts her life between “The Clone Wars” and “Rebels.”

Filoni previously hinted at a possibility of a live-action series starring Ahsoka, though nothing has been confirmed. Whether the character returns in animation or makes her way to live-action, it’ll be an interesting journey for fans to witness when that happens.
