The AirPods Pro was a raving success and dramatically impacted the wearables division of Apple. Rumors about the third generation Apple AirPods started to pop up in the late part of 2019, but nothing specific was revealed. Interestingly, a new report surfaced online claiming that AirPods 3 is entering the mass production stage in the first half of 2021.
The latest information about the Apple AirPods 3 comes from the note to investors of TFI Securities Analyst and reputable Apple tipster Ming-Chi Kuo. The analyst shared that the third generation wireless earbuds from the Cupertino tech giant will enter into mass production in the first half of next year. Kuo also revealed that the third generation AirPods would the most important change when it comes to its internal design.
The TFI Securities Analyst further claimed that the upcoming AirPods 3 would adopt SiP to replace the robust-flex PCB+SMT design of the Apple AirPods 2. Whispers online claimed that Apple might do this to save the slow and declining demand for the AirPods 2. It is also said that Luxshare ICT would be the major supplier of the upcoming Apple wireless earbuds.
The TFI Securities Analyst also revealed in his note to investors that the Cupertino tech giant is also preparing for the production of AirPods Pro 2. According to Kuo, AirPods Pro 2 will enter into production in the fourth quarter of next year or the first quarter of 2022. Moreover, he added that AirPods Pro 2 would be made available to consumers in 2022.
Based on Kuo’s note to investors, Apple has no plans of releasing any AirPods model this year. It is understandable, though, since tech giants all over the world are facing issues because of the current global health crisis caused by the COVID-19. While these details are interesting, it is worth mentioning that these details are not official.
Ming-Chi Kuo has a good track record when it comes to predicting details about the upcoming products of the Cupertino tech giant. Since information about the AirPods 3 and the AirPods Pro 2 are not from Apple, we suggest taking this with a good measure of salt.
