Alec Baldwin Appears Distraught During Coffee Run; Hilaria Fears Husband Will Develop PTSD

Hilaria Baldwin is doing her best to support her husband Alec Baldwin following the tragic accident on the set of “Rust” that killed cinematographer Halyna Hutchins.

On Sunday, Alec, 63, and Hilaria, 37, were photographed in Manchester, Vermont, where their family has holed up since the Oct. 21 incident. In photos obtained by Page Six, the couple appeared distraught when they stepped out to get coffee at Dina’s Bakery Cafe.

One photo showed the actor looking defeated, with his head hanging low over a table inside the cafe. At one point, Alec put his face in his hands as Hilaria stood in front of him with her back toward the window.

When they left the cafe, Alec gave the photographers a wave, while Hilaria smiled politely. But she also filmed the interaction with the paparazzi using her phone.

The outlet noted that Hilaria went on a quick run alone later that day and confronted the paparazzi sitting outside of their home with her phone. Hilaria was seen holding her phone toward a photographer, who took a snap of her from inside their car.

A day before the couple's sighting, Hilaria spoke about her decision to take her husband and their six children away from their Greenwich Village, New York City, home and head to Vermont.

She told the New York Post that she "just drove around and around and around with my kids" for an entire day before settling on ski town Manchester. It's unclear when Alec joined Hilaria and their children.

The yoga instructor said she feared for the state of her husband's mental health. “I brought [Alec] up here because we have to mourn Halyna’s death,” she explained. “Alec had a really traumatic thing happen, and I am trying to limit the PTSD. He needs space for me to take care of him and his mental health.”

According to Hilaria, she wanted to protect her husband from scrutiny surrounding his involvement in the fatal shooting. She also hoped to keep their kids away from the glare of news media.

"There’s going to be no answers until we hear the results of the investigation,” she said. “We don’t know what happened, and we have the same questions as everyone does. We want answers faster than anyone. We have to have respect for the process of the authorities."

Hilaria recently expressed her support to her husband by sharing on Instagram a photo of her holding his hand. She accompanied it with a short but sweet caption saying, "I love you and I’m here."
