Alex Rodriguez Spotted For First Time Since Jennifer Lopez Split Rumors, Reveals Relationship Status

Alex Rodriguez has confirmed that he and Jennifer Lopez are still together in his first outing since reports of their split surfaced.

Lopez and Rodriguez made headlines Friday after multiple outlets reported that they ended their two-year engagement. However, the 45-year-old former MLB star shut down the split rumors once and for all when he was spotted heading into his Coral Gables gym in Florida on Saturday, TMZ reported.

When asked by one photographer about his current relationship status, he responded, "I'm not single."

In the video obtained by TMZ, Rodriguez is also seen talking to someone on the phone as he was leaving the gym. He is heard telling the person on the other end that he would call them back, calling them "baby." When asked if the caller was Lopez, he nods his head, Entertainment Tonight noted.

Unnamed sources told TMZ that Friday had been a "bad day" for both stars. Rodriguez and Lopez appeared to have had a big fight that day, and their posts on social media only made the split reports worse, the outlet noted.

On Friday, Rodriguez shared a selfie on a boat. "Don't mind me, just taking a sail-fie," he wrote in the caption, adding, "What are your plans for the weekend?"

Meanwhile, Lopez also shared a clip on Instagram of her laughing in various interviews. "Find a good reason to laugh today Sending everyone love," she wrote.

Prior to Rodriguez's sighting, he and Lopez had released a statement addressing the split reports, calling them "inaccurate."

Fans were happy to see that A-Rod and the singer were still going strong. "honestly, glad to hear it... I feel like they were meant for each other but he needs to get over his s--t.." one Twitter user commented.

"Great news. He obviously did something wrong," another tweeted, while a third user wrote, "Called pandemic blues they will get through this."

An anonymous source "close to the pair" told People that Lopez and the former New York Yankee "never officially broke up and talked about it but are still together."

"They hit a rough patch. But were not broken up," the insider said, adding that rumors linking Rodriguez to "Southern Charm's" Madison LeCroy "had no bearing on the rough patch at all."

"She's working in the Dominican Republic and he's in Miami so it's tough seeing each other especially with quarantining and COVID," the tipster continued, "but they want to try to stay together."

Lopez and Rodriguez got engaged in the Bahamas in 2019 after dating for two years.
