Alyssa Milano and her uncle survived what would have been a tragic car accident if it wasn't for the actress’ presence of mind.

According to TMZ, Milano reached over and used her hand to hit the brakes as her uncle, behind the wheel, suffered a medical emergency while they were in the middle of a Los Angeles freeway on Tuesday.

The 48-year-old actress was sitting in the passenger seat when her uncle, Mitchell, who was driving the car suddenly became unconscious and drifted to another lane. According to a press release by the California Highway Patrol obtained by ET, the Ford SUV being driven by Milano’s uncle hit another vehicle but "With the assistance of a good Samaritan, they were able to bring the Ford to a stop in between the No. 1 and No. 2 lanes," the press release stated.

When the car stopped, the “Charmed” actress promptly performed CPR on her uncle until the first responders took over. He was transported to the hospital and is still being treated, TMZ reported.

Meanwhile, Milano was picked up by her husband, David Bugliari.

Milano took to Twitter on Wednesday to encourage fans to learn CPR among other practices that we should do to "protect the people we love."

"We should all take every opportunity we have to protect the people we love. Get vaccinated. Wear masks. Lock up your guns. Learn CPR. Small, common-sense actions. It’s not hard to take care of each other, but it is important,” she tweeted.

Her fans took to the comments section to encourage and praise her for the heroic deed.

“Those really are good things to know/practice. Some prevent accidents, some save lives after accidents. And of course, some save lives. Thanks,” a fan said.

“Just took my CPR recertification class last Saturday!,” one commentator proudly said.

“You hit the nail on the head with this tweet,” another fan said.

Last year, Milano spoke about her recovery from COVID-19 and its side effects.

"It comes in stages and it affects different parts of the body at different times. Like, first it was my stomach and then I started to feel better a little bit. And then it was my chest,” she told ET.

“And then I started to feel better a little bit. And you know, just the roller coaster, and now I'm six months out and, you know, I'm what they call a long hauler, I still have a lot of the symptoms. I have heart palpitations and shortness of breath and my hair is falling out. The worst part of all of it is that I have horrible ringing in my ears that is really, really annoying to say the least,” she added.
