Amber Heard “got cold feet” before marrying Johnny Depp, a source said.
Heard and Depp separated in 2016, with the former alleging that the latter was abusive and violent. According to a report from People, Depp and Heard’s marriage turned into a nightmare before they divorced.
“Johnny and Amber’s relationship was always toxic,” a source told the publication. “They got in so many fights.”
There was reportedly nonstop drama between the two. Heard accused her ex-husband of being “verbally and physically abusive” throughout their relationship.
It came to a point when Heard was having doubts about marrying Depp. Before she walked down the aisle, the “Aquaman” star was allegedly questioning her decision to tie the knot with Depp.
“She kind of got cold feet. She was just like, ‘What am I doing here?’ When Johnny Depp wants you, you don’t really say no,” a source said.
Heard and Depp got married in 2015 and parted ways the following year. A friend of Depp said that Heard was his female version. Heard was “kooky and outspoken” and while those attributes intimidated the other guys, it was a turn-on for Depp. However, her independent streak and Depp’s insecurities led to jealousy and a disastrous relationship.
Depp was reportedly moody and difficult. He acted nasty, which didn’t do good in their marriage. A mutual friend of the exes said that their separation was the best for both of them.
“A divorce is the best outcome. Johnny and Amber should not be married,” the insider said.
Meanwhile, a few weeks back, an audio confession of Heard admitting that she started their fights and she hit him leaked. It changed the entire narrative of their relationship and divorce, with the online users now siding with Depp and fighting for his justice while condemning Heard.
In a court document, Depp said he feared for his life when he was with Heard. One time, Heard went berserk and threw bottles at him. Depp severely injured his finger and underwent three surgeries to reconstruct it.
“I feared that I would lose my finger, my arm, and my life,” Depp said.
Depp lost his role in “Pirates of the Caribbean” following Heard’s allegations. But the actor is returning to the big screen with his new film “Minamata.”
