Amber Portwood Instagrams Cryptic Quote After Rumored Matt Baier Split

“Teen Mom OG” star Amber Portwood took to Instagram Friday to share a cryptic post. The message seemed to be about her fiancé, Matt Baier, whom she reportedly split from after he failed a polygraph test on Monday’s episode of the MTV reality show. While Portwood claimed she was still with her future husband, their October wedding was canceled. Portwood unearthed a quote from Hollywood legend Marilyn Monroe to express herself.

The message read: “I’m selfish, impatient and a little insecure. I make mistakes, I am out of control and at times hard to handle. But if you can’t handle me at my worst, then you don’t deserve me at my best.”

While the message is has been widely attributed to Monroe, there’s no proof that she ever said it.

Portwood, 27, has not publicly responded since her fiancé failed the polygraph test. He was asked if he ever cheated on Portwood, said “no,” and passed. But when he was asked if he made “sexual advances” toward another woman, he failed. Portwood burst into tears and left the room.

Portwood’s first thought was her daughter. “What about Leah? How do I explain this to her? How do I explain this to her?” she tearfully asked.

Baier tried to console his fiancée, but she did not want to be soothed by him. “Trash! Trash!” she screamed at him. “I got you money! I got you deals! Who are you laughing at? F--- you! Sexual advance? You tried to f— her!”

Portwood didn’t reveal the identity of the mystery woman.

The Indiana native continued to worry about Leah since she considered Baier to be her stepfather. “What is she going to say to me?” she cried “I wasted seven years of my life with a man, then I wasted three years of my life. My teenage years and my 20s. Is it me?”

During an interview with Us Weekly last week, Portwood cited drugs as the reason she wanted to split from Baier. Both of them battled addiction. She decided to end their relationship when he gave co-star Catelynn Lowell a Xanax during an April press event for the show.

“It was pretty much the straw that broke the camel’s back,” Amber, who is sober five years, told the magazine. “We’re not together now.”

Portwood said she would reconcile with Baier if there was “no more lying, no more verbal attacks against each other.”

But potentially getting back together would require Baier to make serious changes. “There’s a lot that needs to be worked on for us to even think of being together. He hasn’t been the best,” she said. “He’s just met a person that doesn’t deal with his s--t. But he’s also met a person that he really is in love with and doesn’t want to let go.”

She has essentially checked out. “At this point, I told him it’s pretty much up to him to save this relationship,” she added.
