Amber Portwood Wants Sex Tape Like Farrah Abraham? 'Teen Mom' Opens Up On 'Dr. Phil'
Former “Teen Mom” star Amber Portwood made a shocking confession when she appeared on the “Dr. Phil” talk show. She told psychologist Phil McGraw that their interview together marked the first time she had ever appeared on camera sober, the Daily Mail wrote Thursday.
The 23-year-old is one of the most notorious mothers to appear on MTV’s hit show, and according to Portwood, she was under the influence the entire time the cameras rolled.
She had her daughter Leah, now 4, when she was 18 and was verbally and even physically abusive to her on-again, off-again boyfriend Gary Shirley. After spending time behind bars for just 17 months of her five-year sentence for drug possession and parole violation in 2012, Portwood is ready to come clean about her dark secrets -- like how she continued to abuse drugs even when she was in rehab.
Apparently, she ate a patch that contained drugs, but she added that the drugs would only show up if the patch were sent to a lab for analysis.
It’s been reported that she wants to follow in the footsteps of former cast mate Farrah Abraham, who also infamously appeared on “Dr. Phil.” Rumors have swirled that Portwood said she would like to make a sex tape like Abraham's, and the Daily Mail wrote that McGraw asked her if the gossip is true, along with speculations about her getting back together with Shirley.
The two haven’t exactly had the best relationship. Portwood lost custody of Leah in 2010 after she was charged with domestic violence. The former “Teen Mom” star went to rehab after a June 2011 suicide attempt, but the reality star maintained that it was spending time at Rockville Correctional Facility that got her sober.
