American Horror Story: Apocalypse
Langdon (Cody Fern) receives an unexpected visit from a coven of witches on “American Horror Story: Apocalypse,” episode 4. Kurt Iswarienko/FX

Langdon may believe his plan to have the Outpost 3 survivors destroy one another was successful, but on “American Horror Story: Apocalypse,” episode 4, the “AHS: Coven” witches will threaten his mission.

When “Could It Be ... Satan?” airs on FX, the witches will attempt to restore order to the world as Langdon (Cody Fern) doubts their potential.

Check out the 4 things you can expect to see on “American Horror Story” Season 8, episode 4.

1. A Look Into Madison’s Past

In the “Could It Be ... Satan?” promo video, Langdon is seen approaching Madison (Emma Roberts), who appears to be a retail sales associate. When viewers first met Madison in “AHS: Coven,” she was a famous and out-of-control actress who sought help at Miss Robichaux’s Academy for Exceptional Young Ladies. However, the starlet appears to be a long ways from Hollywood when she is seen working in the linen section of a department store.

During her time at the school, Madison learned to control her powers but was eventually murdered. Did Langdon have a hand in bringing her back from the dead?

2. “AHS: Coven” Witches Offer Salvation.

In the “American Horror Story: Apocalypse,” episode 4 promo video, Myrtle (Frances Conroy) tells Langdon the witches can save the world. Cordelia (Sarah Paulson) then reveals her coven can make a change for the better but Langdon appears to be content in his role as the only person in power. Will he make room for Cordelia at the top or will she force her way into Outpost 3?

3. A Visit To Hotel Cortez

In the FX promo video, Langdon is seen entering a door designed just like the ones featured in “AHS: Hotel.” In the previous episode, the witches brought Mallory (Billie Lourd), Coco (Leslie Grossman) and Dinah (Adina Porter) back to life after Venable (Paulson) and Ms. Meade (Kathy Bates) killed everyone. “American Horror Story” fans may recall that Queenie (Gabourey Sidibe), a witch from “American Horror Story: Coven,” was killed at the Cortez. Was Queenie murdered by Langdon? Could her soul be in the body of one of the Outpost 3 residents?

4. An Explanation Of Mallory’s Power

In the previous episode, Langdon suspected Mallory had a darkness inside of her, which became evident when she managed to throw him across the room without physically touching him. In the promo, Cordelia tells Mallory they need her help. Could Mallory be possessed by a witch from “AHS: Coven,” or does the former assistant have untapped magical potential?

“American Horror Story: Apocalypse,” episode 4 will air on Wednesday at 10 p.m. EDT on FX.
