‘American Horror Story Cult’ Spoilers: 3 Things To Expect From Episode 2
Fear and terror will continue to be a constant presence when “American Horror Story: Cult” episode 2 rolls around which will feature more phobias and a growing number of clowns.
FX viewers last saw the residents of Michigan coming to terms with the 2016 presidential election. Whether their reactions were positive or negative, everyone dealt with the results in their own ways. However in “Don’t Be Afraid,” it seems like the election was a cakewalk compared to what some character will deal with in its aftermath.
1. Ally and Kai will meet again
In the promo, Kai (Evan Peters) can be seen in front of Ally’s (Sarah Paulson) door asking if he could come in for a glass of water because it is so hot outside, however, Ally refuses. Rather than leaving immediately after being denied entry, Kai places his hands on the bars on Ally’s door and shakes them as if he is trying to force the door open.
“Strong,” he replies when the door remains intact after his efforts to unhinge it.
While this encounter doesn’t seem too friendly, Ally and Kai’s initial meeting was a trainwreck. The two came face-to-face after Kai spilled coffee on Ally and her wife Ivy (Alison Pill). Rather than genuinely apologizing to the couple for spilling the beverage, Kai suggested that they shouldn’t block the sidewalk and called Ally out of her name. This is shaping up to be an interesting love story seeing as Ally doesn’t seemed impressed by Kai’s behavior.
2. Winter attempts to grow closer to Oz
In the promo, Winter (Billie Lorde) can be seen telling Oz (Cooper Dodson) that she wants him to give her his fears so it can make them both stronger. While it is unclear what her exact motives are as she spends time in the Mayfair-Richards home, Winter seems keen on taking Oz under her wing.
As Winter tells Oz to be open with her about his fears the two are seen holding on to one another’s pinky fingers. Winter does this same routine with her brother Kai when the two ask each other questions and promise to answer with complete honesty.
In episode 1, Winter was hired to care for Oz when his mothers are away when their previous employee stopped showing up to work after Donald Trump was elected president. During their time together, Winter convinced Oz to look at dead bodies and watch murders online in order to make him stronger.
Oz later informed Winter that he saw several clowns arrive at his neighbors’ home. The two then went over to investigate. While there, Winter lifted Oz up to look into his neighbors’ window where he sees the clowns murder them.
3. Ally’s phobia began to intensify
In the promo, Ally is still seeing clowns every where she goes and Dr. Vincent (Cheyenne Jackson) is seen telling Ivy that he believes Ally is developing agoraphobia which is the fear of places and situations that might cause panic, helplessness or embarrassment.
Ally can later be heard telling someone that she doesn’t know what’s really anymore and Winter can be heard saying, “If you’re not sure just ask.”
In another promo, Ally can be seen saying that she is over telling herself that she is damaged and crazy. Her phobias seem to get so out of hand that Ivy is seen slapping Ally and telling her that she isn’t acting like the person she married. Will Ally’s phobias tear her marriage apart?
“American Horror Story: Cult” episode 2 will air Tuesday at 10 p.m. EDT on FX.
