‘American Horror Story’ Season 3 Spoilers: Alexander Dreymon Lands ‘Major Recurring Role’ On ‘Coven’
Move over, ladies – “American Horror Story” has added another male to its female-dominated season 3 cast. The latest addition to “Coven” is entertainment industry newcomer Alexander Dreymon.
Deadline is reporting that Dreymon, 30, will be joining the FX miniseries in a currently nameless role of “handsome young man.” A “major recurring role” on the show, Dreymon’s character will have the pleasure of moving next door to the witch academy in New Orleans.
As we previously reported, season 3 of “American Horror Story” concerns a struggle between Salem witches and voodoo witches. A released synopsis for the show explains that in present day there have been “mysterious attacks” against witches who survived the Salem witch trials over 320 years ago. Because of the new danger, young girls are being sent to a “special school,” or “academy,” as Deadline reported. At the school, the girls will learn how to protect themselves from attacks from the best – supreme witch Fiona (Jessica Lange).
Fiona has been long-absent as Supreme, but returns to New Orleans after learning of the attacks. One of her pupils will be Zoe (Taissa Farmiga), a new arrival at the school who is “harboring a terrifying secret of her own.”
Dreymon’s mysterious character could be interacting with Farmiga’s Zoe, or other witchy students played by Emma Roberts, Jamie Brewer and Gabourey Sidibe. Dreymon could also be starring alongside Evan Peters, whose character is speculated to be involved in a love triangle with Roberts' and Farmiga’s characters.
Dreymon will be joining “American Horror Story” returning stars Jessica Lange, Evan Peters, Lily Rabe, Sarah Paulson, Taissa Farmiga, Denis O’Hare, Alexandra Breckenridge, Jamie Brewer and Frances Conroy. Fellow newcomers to the FX show include Emma Roberts, Gabourey Sidibe, Kathy Bates, Patti LuPone, Angela Bassett, Christine Ebersole, Leslie Jordan, Damon Grey and Sir Maejor.
