‘American Horror Story’ Season 4: ‘Freak Show’ Trailer Video Of Fallen Angel Reportedly Fake, Fan-Made
We’ve got terrible news for “American Horror Story” fans. The trailer video that went viral on Sunday for Season 4, “Freak Show,” is reportedly fake.
A video, titled “American Horror Story: Freak Show – Fallen Angel Teaser,” was released on Sunday, July 13, by a YouTube channel called “AHS FX.” Because the channel has promo teaser videos from previous seasons and cited “FX Television Network 2014” in the “Fallen Angel” video, fans of the drama were led to believe that the video was authentic. The Hollywood Reporter broke the news a couple hours later that it was actually a fan-made teaser.
FX confirmed to THR that no teasers from "Freak Show" have been released.
Fans have been scouring the Web for any “Freak Show” spoilers that they could get their hands on. Because the series has a history of releasing teaser videos leading up to the premiere, viewers were happy to believe that this was their first look at the upcoming season. As of Monday, July 14, at 11:30 a.m. EDT, the teaser had more than 850,000 views.
While “American Horror Story” lovers will have to wait a little bit longer for their first bite at “Freak Show,” they can rest easy knowing that filming for Season 4 is set to begin in mid-July.
“It’s in the late 1950s in Jupiter, Florida, and I know what my character looks like, but I don’t know anything else about her,” veteran actress Kathy Bates told BuzzSugar earlier this month. “In fact, I’ve just gone to costume fittings, and we’re still developing the character. I haven’t seen the script yet, and we start shooting in the middle of July, so time’s a-wastin’!”
“American Horror Story: Freak Show” will premiere on FX in October. This isn't the first time that a fan-made promo for "American Horror Story" has gone viral. After hints about the Season 4 theme in March, crafty "American Horror Story" lovers created a series of carnival/ circus posters.
