American Killed In London Terror Attack: Kurt Cochran Died On Westminster Bridge
An American man was killed in during an Islamic State group terror attack in London on Wednesday, according to a new report. Kurt Cochran, 54, of Utah, died after he and dozens of pedestrians were mowed down by a car on the Westminster Bridge near the Parliament building.
His wife, Melissa, was also hit and but survived after sustaining injuries, the Daily Beast reported Thursday. She was hospitalized with multiple broken bones, according to her family members.
The pair traveled to the U.K. to visit Melissa’s parents and to celebrate their 25th wedding anniversary, according to a statement from Melissa's brother, Clinton Payne. The couple was walking on Westminster Bridge near the Parliament building when the attack occurred.

The family released a brief statement Thursday:
"Our family is heartbroken to learn of the death of our son-in-law, Kurt W. Cochran, who was a victim of Wednesday's terrorist attack in London. Kurt was a good man and a loving husband to our daughter and sister, Melissa. They were in Europe to celebrate their 25th wedding anniversary and were scheduled to return to the United States on Thursday. Melissa also received serious injuries in the attack and is being cared for in the hospital. We express our gratitude to the emergency and medical personnel who have cared for them and ask for your prayers on behalf of Melissa and our family. Kurt will be greatly missed, and we ask for privacy as our family mourns and as Melissa recovers from her injuries."
The terror group more commonly known as ISIS claimed responsibility Thursday for the attack that resulted in three deaths and at least 20 people injured, according to CNN. The driver went on a stabbing spree in and outside of Parliament before he was gunned down by local law enforcement.
