‘America’s Got Talent’ 12: Darci Lynne Shares What She’ll Do With $1M
“America’s Got Talent” Season 12 just crowned Darci Lynne as its winner!
On Wednesday night, the 12-year-old singing ventriloquist shared the stage with 10-year-old Angelica Hale. The latter finished in second place. After hearing her name announced by host Tyra Banks, Darci Lynne broke down into tears because she was so “overcome with joy.”
While speaking with Entertainment Tonight, the adorable singer revealed what she plans to do with the $1 million grand prize that she received. “First, I am definitely going to give some money to my mission program at church and then I have to get my mom a dishwasher. Then I’m definitely going to get a pug, because I really want one – if my parents let me,” she said.
“America’s Got Talent” Season 11 winner Grace Vanderwaal also got a pug after her big win last year. She named the adorable Frankie and even created an Instagram account dedicated to him.
But even though Darci Lynne is celebrating her success on the show, she couldn’t help but miss all of the people she met throughout her short journey. “The people, the staff, the contestants, everyone is so kind and it’s just been so much fun. I’m so sad it’s ending,” she said.
Darci Lynne is also extremely pleased with Season 12 runner-up, Angelica, who was still very happy for the grand winner. “I’m so overcome with joy that she was with me in the top two. It was really, really hard for her to not get a happy ending and win, but she’s so happy for me, and it makes me feel good that she’s supporting me,” she said.
After her stint in “America’s Got Talent” Season 12, Darci Lynne will guest-star in various talk shows. She will also headline a series of shows in Las Vegas. A first look at what fans could witness during her live performances already took place at the Dolby Theater stage on Wednesday night. She performed with professional ventriloquist, Terry Fator.
“AGT” judge Simon Cowell also predicted that Darci Lynne could star in her own show that’s similar to “Sesame Street.”
