The recent launch of The Airship in "Among Us" triggered a surge of players in the hit online multiplayer social deduction game. For those who want to improve their skills and chances of winning every match, they can try the Freeplay game mode. Aside from being a crewmate, players can also practice how to play as an impostor in this mode.

How To Play The Solo in Freeplay Mode

Freeplay is a game mode in "Among Us" available for players even without an internet connection. It is currently available in single-player mode and is a great way for players to get acquainted with the layout of the game's various maps. To start a game in Freeplay mode, players need to choose the FreePlay option on the main menu.

This button is located just below the Online button. When selected, players will see four options, showing the names of various "Among Us" maps, including the new The Airship map. Players simply need to choose which map they want to play to start the game.

Players will find themselves either in the Engine Room of The Airship, or the Meeting room on Polus or at the Cafeteria in Mira HQ and Skeld. At the place where they spawn, players will find a laptop, the same one that they could find at the start of any online or local match. A series of random tasks that they should complete is available. Additionally, several Dummy characters are dispersed all over the map locations. When players interact with the laptop, they will find the Task Tester 2000 interface, where they could choose different tasks listed per room.

How To Play As An Impostor In Freeplay Mode

To be an impostor in the Freeplay mode in "Among Us" is fairly easy. Players still need to do the first few steps when starting the mode but there is one variation. After they spawn and find the laptop, players should interact with it. After that, they should select the Customize icon located in the bottom right corner of the screen. Players need to select the file Bw_Imposter.exe to be able to sabotage and kill as many crewmates as they can.
