A report claims to have discovered the release date for the latest Android version, Android 10, by simply asking.

PhoneArena reported that Android 10 will be rolled out for the Pixel phones on Sept. 3 this year and revealed that it got the information by simply asking two of Google’s employees.

The tech news outlet posted two screenshots on its website revealing how two of Google’s support agents casually revealed the exact date for when Android 10 will be released for the Google Pixel.

“Hi, do you know when Android 10 (Q) will be available for my Pixel 3a?” the tech outlet asked the Google support agent, as seen in one screenshot.

“Thanks for showing interest in the new Android version 10,” the support agent replied. “I would like to inform you that the Android Q will be rolled out to the devices from September 3, 2019.”

While PhoneArena deliberately erased the support agent’s name, BGR revealed that the agent’s name was “Alexander.” If Alexander’s casual revelation proves to be the real deal and not a prank, Pixel 3a users will get the chance to update to Android 10 in a week’s time.

More confirmation

The other screenshot posted by PhoneArena revealed how another agent confirmed the first agent’s response:

“I am glad you showed interest about the latest security update on Android devices,” the agent said.

“Based here on my resources, we have an upcoming update of Android 10. Which is Android Q,” the agent added. “Rolling out of Android Q would be Sept 3, 2019.”

Supported devices

Although Google’s support agents have already revealed the release date, the company itself hasn’t officially announced the list of devices that will receive Android 10.

All Pixel phones are expected to have the ability to update to Android 10 once it releases. The Pixel 4 and Pixel 4 XL, on the other hand, are expected to run on Android 10 out of the box.

Slash Gear listed some devices that could receive Android 10 once it is released next month. These devices were part of the Android 10 beta program and are expected to receive to the final update to the Android version.

These devices include the ASUS ZenFone 5Z, Essential Phone PH-1, Huawei Mate 20 Pro, LG G8 ThinQ, Nokia 8.1, OnePlus 6T, OPPO Reno, Realme 3 Pro, Sony XPERIA XZ3, Techno Spark 3 Pro, Vivo X27, Nex A, Nex S, Xiaomi Mi 9, and the Xiaomi Mi Mix 3 5G.
