Android 7.0 Nougat OnePlus 3T, OnePlus 3 Update Download Expected In December; Beta Testing Begins
Chinese smartphone manufacturer OnePlus has been extremely busy amid launching its new smartphone the OnePlus 3T and discontinuing its prior flagship, the OnePlus 3, in markets such as the U.S. But both smartphones will be updated to Android 7.0 Nougat by the end of the year, the company recently confirmed on its blog.
The Android 7.0 Nougat update for the OnePlus 3T and OnePlus 3 is expected in December. OnePlus is already sending out beta software to the OnePlus 3. The OnePlus 3T, which releases Nov. 22, will likely receive the beta software at a later date.
OnePlus runs its own Android-based OxygenOS on its smartphones. The software is a custom ROM, which runs stock Android with a number of additional features, such as gesture controls and a dark mode featured by OnePlus.
The OnePlus 3T features a 5.5-inch Full HD display, a Qualcomm Snapdragon 821 chip, 6GB RAM and 64GB and 128GB internal storage options, a 16-megapixel rear and front camera, a 3,400mAh Battery, USB Type-C, Gunmetal and Soft Gold color options and the Android 6.0 Marshmallow based version of OxygenOS.
The device will sell for $439 in its 64GB model and $479 in its 128GB starting Nov. 22.
