Angelina Jolie Allegedly Sues FBI Over 2016 Brad Pitt Private Jet Incident

Angelina Jolie is allegedly suing the FBI over information about the infamous 2016 private jet incident with then-husband Brad Pitt, in which Jolie accused the actor of domestic violence and child abuse.

Court documents reveal that the new lawsuit was filed by an anonymous “Jane Doe,” requesting a copy of the FBI’s investigative file in hopes of “better understanding” the department’s investigation that had led to Pitt going off the hook, as per ETOnline.

The plaintiff states in the lawsuit that she has a “public status” and wants to keep her identity under wraps. Filed under the Freedom of Information Act, the lawsuit seeks information “about the agency’s investigation of an incident of domestic violence that occurred several years ago involving plaintiff and her minor children as victims and witnesses.”

“Several years ago, while plaintiff, her then-husband, and their children, who were all minors at the time, were traveling via private aircraft, the husband allegedly physically and verbally assaulted plaintiff and the children,” claims Jane Doe, as per court documents, ETOnline reported.

The court documents also reveal that the FBI opened a probe but “publicly announced it was closing its investigation of the incident without further action.”

The lawsuit further claims that the responses of the FBI to Jane Doe’s request for additional information, which is necessary for her children to receive proper medical care and trauma counseling, have been “legally insufficient,” alleging the department of withholding additional records.

While the plaintiff behind the new lawsuit is anonymous, the details laid out in the court documents match the description of the incident that had led to Jolie’s decision to call off her marriage to Pitt in 2016. That year, Jolie claimed that Pitt got into a brawl with their eldest son, Maddox, on a private jet bound for the U.S.

After Jolie filed for divorce from Pitt, reports revealed that Pitt was being investigated by the FBI and Los Angeles social services for “physically abusive behavior” towards their children. However, the actor was later cleared of the accusations, with the FBI confirming he was never involved in an altercation with any of their children during the jet ride.
