  • Her new ink read "eppur si muove," which translates to "and yet it moves"

Angelina Jolie showed off a new tattoo while she was in New York City.

Jolie flew to the Big Apple earlier this month with her six children — Maddox, 19, Pax, 17, Zahara, 16, Shiloh, 15, and 12-year-old twins Vivienne and Knox. While there, the "Maleficent" star was spotted with fresh ink on her forearm when she stepped out in the city last week, Page Six reported.

In photos published by the outlet, Jolie's new tattoo read, "eppur si muove." This quote, which is attributed to Galileo Galilei, translates to "and yet it moves" in Italian.

The Italian mathematician, physicist and philosopher is believed to have said the line in 1633 when he was forced to recant his (true) statement that the Earth moves around the sun. The statement reportedly served as his defiant assertion that the truth would prevail one day.

The "Eternals" star's new tattoo peeked out from beneath her sleeve during one outing, for which she wore a white Everlane T-shirt, gray midi skirt and Salvatore Ferragamo mules.

Jolie already has a lot of other tattoos inspired by her charity works, travels, kids and personality.

In 2016, Jolie also showed off the three elaborate tattoos covering her spine and right shoulder blade that she got while directing the film, "First They Killed My Father," which was based on the memoir of Cambodian author and human-rights activist Loung Ung.

A Jolie source confirmed to People that the tattoos were "Buddhist blessings for peace, love and a prosperous." The insider added that if they were yantra tattoos, she would have had them hand-drawn by either a Buddhist monk or special rues practitioner.

Jolie is fond of specialist tattoo artists and has flown to Thailand to have Bangkok artist Sompong Kanphai ink her and chant a blessing over the design. One of Sompong's designs was a massive Bengal tiger on Jolie's lower back to celebrate her Cambodian citizenship in 2004, Vanity Fair reported.

Jolie mentioned in a previous interview that her kids were also interested in getting body tattoos.

"They’re already asking me about tattoos," Jolie told Radio Times in 2014. "How do I say ‘No’? It’s especially hard for dads and girls. For some reason men get a little more sensitive when the daughter gets a tattoo. And Brad thinks the girls can do no wrong. He’s mush in their hands!"
