Angelina Jolie Strays From Signature Style With Critics' Choice Awards Ensemble
Angelina Jolie is continuing to experiment with her style.
On Thursday, the "Maleficent" star graced the red carpet of Critics' Choice Awards in Santa Monica, California. Jolie opted to wear a white dress from Ralph & Russo, People reported. The gown featured a pencil cut with asymmetrical drape. It has silk crepe and is adorned with devoréd ostrich feathers on the bodice. Jolie complemented her look with a pair of diamond earrings and shimmering rings from Neil Lane.
Many find Jolie's dress at the ceremony as very different from her signature fashion. As how Hello Giggles described it, the gown was "un-Angelina Jolie dress." Although it strays from her all-black and minimalist look, Jolie stunned in the said gown and was even one of the best-dressed celebrities at the event.
Those who have been following Jolie know that the "Changeling" actress usually opts for black dresses. However, in 2017 she has been spotted making twists on her fashion and every time she does, she never fails to impress her fans.
In November, Jolie donned a yellow dress at the Asian World Film Fest. The knee-length ensemble is belted at the waist which highlights her slim figure. It also includes long sleeves and feminine ruffles at the bottom which adds glamour to her looks.
Days after the said outing, Jolie surprised everyone when she flaunted her legs in a black turtleneck mini-dress. She paired it with black bootie heels and dark sunglasses as she met and greeted her fans in Los Angeles.
According to People, Ralph & Russo is the same brand that Meghan Markle opted to wear for her engagement photos with Prince Harry. The British label was behind the "Suits" actress glamorous black dress with sheer bodice and leaf embellishments.
Jolie's choice of dresses was never far from the royals. In fact, when she graced the Hollywood Film Awards in November, she wore a $3,650 silver satin-crepe gown from Jenny Packham. The British designer is Kate Middleton's favorite. In fact, that dress belongs to Packham's Fall 2017 collection that is "inspired by what it means to be British."
"I absolutely work directly with Kate, it's always quite the collaboration!" Packham said of working with the Duchess of Cambridge. The designer added that she thinks the royal mom's style is "great" and "very British."
What can you say about Jolie's fashion lately? Do you agree that she looks great when she is not in her usual black dresses?
