Jon Voight’s latest pro-Trump video has caused his daughter Angelina Jolie’s name to trend on Twitter. The actor’s warning about what could happen if Joe Biden is allowed to become president appears to have reminded the internet that Jolie and Voight are related.

In his video, the 81-year-old actor claimed the Democrats “want to destroy America.”

“We’re heading down a street that has no name now. We must not allow our nation to crumble. Let me warn you all that we are in great danger if we fall under a Biden administration,” Voight said in the video.

However, it appears his warning failed to register with some people who were focused on the fact that he is Jolie’s father.

Many Twitter users admitted they were surprised about how different the father and daughter, who have had a strained relationship, were from one another.

“Every time Jon Voight turns up to say something embarrassing and fascistic, it reminds everyone of why his daughter, Angelina Jolie, is estranged from him and has dedicated herself to humanitarian causes for women and children,” the individual wrote.

Another person added, “Every time I see Jon Voight I can’t help but wonder what miracle allowed him be the father to Angelina Jolie. I wonder if they’ve done a DNA test. I’m not buying it.”

Meanwhile, one person suggested that Jolie’s less than kind words about her father over the years was evidence that his attitude would eventually rub people the wrong way.

“General rule of thumb: when you want to get a feel for the general chr [character] of a celeb behind their public persona, look at what their children think of them & how they talk about them. There’s a reason why Zelda Williams talks lovingly about her dad & why Angelina Jolie does not,” the individual wrote.

Jolie and Voight were estranged for nearly seven years. In the past, Jolie has spoken about the pain she felt when she learned about her father’s infidelity during his marriage to her mother, Marcheline Bertrand.

Voight and Jolie’s relationship appeared to essentially fall apart in 2002 when he said the actress needed help after she adopted her son Maddox. However, by 2010 the two appeared to be back on speaking terms with one another.
