‘Animal Kingdom’ Season 5 Spoilers: Episode 6 Synopsis Released; Watch ‘Home Sweet Home’ Promo
J, Deran, and Craig have finally found a way to earn back a part of Smurf’s estate, but on “Animal Kingdom” Season 5, episode 6, the fight for power will threaten to tear the Cody boys apart.
“Tensions rise as Deran (Jake Weary), J (Finn Cole), and Craig (Ben Robson) do a job that risks everything the family has,” the “Home Sweet Home” synopsis teases.
In the promo video for the TNT series, J, Craig, and Deran can be seen approaching the skate park they plan to rob. However, it seems things won’t go as planned as the men begin to lose their tempers.
In the video, Deran appears upset as he says, “This is everything we worked for our entire lives.” In the previous episode, Pam (Charlayne Woodard) agreed to let the Cody boys earn back Smurf’s (Ellen Barkin) estate but is forcing them to rob a skate park as their first task.
While J wanted the family to consider contesting Smurf’s will in court, Deran pushed everyone to go along with the heist. It appears Deran will remind everyone of the reason why they are on that job during a heated moment.
Elsewhere, in the promo for “Animal Kingdom” Season 5, episode 6, Craig is heard saying, “We make the calls, not you,” as he attacks Deran.
Deran has been attempting to push J out of his role as the head of the family and make major decisions for everyone. However, it appears Craig will begin to lose his patience with his little brother and attack him while they are in the middle of the heist.
Will the Cody boys be able to compose themselves long enough to get the job done and earn back their home from Pam?
“Pope (Shawn Hatosy) goes to the desert trying to outrun his grief,” the synopsis for “Home Sweet Home” says.
In the promo video for the TNT drama, Pope can be seen holding a gun before he attempts to avoid crashing into an oncoming vehicle.
In the previous episode, Pope told Deran he was hearing voices and couldn’t remember things anymore. Pope insisted he needed to leave and couldn’t guarantee whether he would come back.
Pope was previously put on an involuntary hold after his erratic behavior landed him in the hospital, but he left before he could receive further help from a doctor.
Pope wants to deal with his issues, but will he be able to keep his car on the road long enough to make it to the desert and have a moment of reflection?
“Animal Kingdom” Season 5, episode 6 airs Tuesday at 9 p.m. ET on TNT.
