Anna Duggar Breaks Her Silence On Josh Duggar Scandal For The First Time On TLC's 'Jill And Jessa: Counting On' [VIDEO]
Anna Duggar is silent no more. The former star of TLC's "19 Kids and Counting" is finally speaking out about a string of scandals, involving molestation and infidelity, that shook her marriage to Josh Duggar.
People magazine reports that Anna, 27, will appear in an early episode of her sisters-in-law Jill Dillard and Jessa Seewald's spinoff TLC series "Jill and Jessa: Counting On." A clip for the series premiere shows Anna sitting in a one-on-one interview during which she describes the scandals as "heartbreaking." She appears visibly upset, choking back tears while looking away from the camera.
Although it appears the first episode of the new series will tackle some serious subject matter, Jill, 24, and Jessa, 23, are doing their best to stay positive. The pair divert the conversation from their brother's transgressions to more uplifting topics, like Jessa giving birth to her first child, whom we now know as Spurgeon Elliot Seewald.
"We will come out of this fire," Jill says.
The clip marks the first time Anna has publicly commented on her husband's string of scandal. In August it was reported that Josh, 27, had been exposed in the Ashley Madison hack, which released the information of hundreds of thousands of users registered on the cheating site. In time it was revealed that the father of four had not one, but two, accounts on the site, which cost him more than $900. Josh admitted to having been unfaithful, blaming his behavior on an addiction to pornography. The Ashley Madison hack was hardly the first time Josh's marriage was shaken by shocking news. In May, it was revealed that he had molested several minors, three of whom were his siblings, when he was 14.
Josh is currently believed to be receiving treatment at a Christian rehab facility in Rockford, Illinois. But that story has, to this day, not been confirmed.
"Jill and Jessa: Counting On" premieres Dec. 13 at 8 p.m. EST on TLC. Check out the preview below:
