Actor Chris Pratt is receiving major backlash from his ex Anna Faris’ fans after sharing an Instagram post praising his wife, Katherine Schwarzenegger, for giving him “a gorgeous healthy daughter.”

Faris and Pratt, who finalized their divorce in 2018, share a son, Jack, 9. The actress gave birth to Jack nine weeks before her due date.

The early arrival resulted in Jack staying in the neonatal intensive care unit for several weeks following his birth and some health issues once he was older.

The drama between Faris’ fans and Pratt,42, began on Wednesday when the “Guardians of the Galaxy” actor posted a photo of himself and Schwarzenegger on Instagram.

“Guys. For real. Look how she’s looking at me! I mean. Find you somebody that looks at you like that!! You know!? We met in church. She’s given me an amazing life, a gorgeous healthy daughter [Lyla], she chews so loudly that sometimes I put in my earbuds to drown it out, but that’s love!” Pratt wrote.

By Thursday, Faris’ name began trending on Twitter with fans showing their support for the actress while slamming the actor over the “gorgeous healthy daughter” comment.

“‘A gorgeous healthy daughter’ is a pretty gross thing to say when his son with Anna Faris was premature and in the NICU for a month, what size earbuds do I need to drown out your ableism towards your own son,” one person wrote.

Another person revealed they were unsure whether Pratt meant to intentionally insult his ex but reminded fans of Faris’s unwavering love for her son.

“Chris Pratt’s ‘healthy daughter’ comment might have been an immeasurable foot in mouth moment, or maybe he meant it how it came off. Anna Faris clearly has enough love for beautiful Jack no matter what though. That’s what matters,” the individual wrote.

Following Jack’s birth, Faris and Pratt were told he suffered severe brain bleeding due to his early arrival and could be developmentally disabled. Jack has since grown up relatively fine with slight leg muscle and vision issues.

Pratt married Schwarzenegger in 2019 and welcomed their daughter, Lyla, the following year. After being romantically linked to Michael Barrett in 2017, Faris announced she and the cinematographer eloped in July 2021.
