Anna Faris’ Father Responds To Chris Pratt Breakup

Jack Faris, the father of “Mom” actress Anna Faris, issued a statement after his daughter split from husband of eight years Chris Pratt. The two didn’t give a reason for their breakup, but said they still loved each other and were committed to their son.

“I can’t say much, but what I can say is that they are both wonderful loving people who respect each other,” Jack told Radar Online Monday in an exclusive interview. “And right now we are just trying to do what’s best for our grandson.”

When asked about what his relationship was like with Pratt now, Jack said, “We are still on good terms.”

Radar Online apparently got too nosy for Jack when they questioned if he was surprised by the breakup. “That edges more on privacy, so I can’t talk about it,” he said.

While Pratt, Faris and Jack didn’t give a reason for why the marriage ended, Twitter users wrote Pratt might have cheated on Faris with “Passengers” co-star Jennifer Lawrence. It was a popular rumor when the two worked on the film in 2015.

While she didn’t think it was true, Faris was bothered by the infidelity accusations. “[That] stung a little bit harder than I thought it would,” Faris admitted to Us Weekly at the time. “I thought, ‘Maybe there is a kernel of truth to that.’”

Pratt was shocked by the rumor, too. “For us, it was like, ‘What the heck,” Faris, 40, recalled. “This has been blindsiding to us. We have an incredible relationship. It has been weirdly stinging.”

Throughout their marriage, Faris and Pratt were vocal about their love for each other. The “Jurrassic World” star essentially called his wife his soul mate during a Reddit AMA in April 2015.

“Our relationship has made me believe in divine intervention and destiny, just as much as my crazy career and the way I fell into this life,” he said. “She and I grew up 20 minutes away from each other but never met until we met in [Los Angeles].”

The couple announced their split via Facebook and Instagram late Sunday.

“Anna and I are sad to announce we are legally separating. We tried hard for a long time, and we’re really disappointed,” Pratt wrote. “Our son has two parents who love him very much and for his sake we want to keep this situation as private as possible moving forward. We still have love for each other, will always cherish our time together and continue to have the deepest respect for one another.”

Pratt’s Facebook post about his separation garnered more than 332,000 reactions.

Faris shared a screenshot of a text with the same message on Instagram. Her post was liked nearly 100,000 times.
