A former producer for Jake Tapper's “The Lead,” is being investigated for alleged crimes involving minors in Fairfax, Virginia, the second former employee of CNN to be arrested or investigated in weeks.

Rick Saleeby, who resigned from his position more than two weeks ago, is being investigated by detectives of the child exploitation unit under Fairfax County Police's Major Crimes Bureau for “serious allegations involving potential juvenile victims."

"While we will eventually be transparent about our findings, safeguarding the personal privacy and safety of victims and witnesses as well as maintaining the integrity of our criminal investigation are of paramount importance," the Bureau confirmed in a statement to NBC News on Thursday.

A police spokesman also told Fox News that they have taken in "numerous items from the subject's Virginia home" but would not go into further detail.

Saleeby’s allegations come only a short period of time after another former senior producer was arrested for “luring in minors to sexually train them.”

John Griffin, of Stamford, Connecticut, a former senior producer for CNN’s “New Day” was charged by the FBI on Dec. 10 with "three counts of using a facility of interstate commerce to attempt to entice minors to engage in unlawful sexual activity," according to a statement from the U.S. Attorney's Office for the District of Vermont.
