Anthony Anderson Shares His Mother's Reaction On Meeting Prince Harry, Meghan Markle [Watch]
Anthony Anderson recalled his mother's reaction when she met Prince Harry and Meghan Markle at the 2022 NAACP Image Awards, which were held on Feb. 27 in Los Angeles. The event was hosted by Anderson.
"It’s every young woman’s dream to be a princess, so my mom actually got to meet the princess," Anderson said as he appeared on "The Ellen DeGeneres Show" episode's sneak peek airing Monday.
The 51-year-old actor noted that Markle's mother, Doria Ragland, was also present at the event and it was another highlight of their meeting. "More importantly, she got to meet the princess’ mom," he added. "My mom wanted to take Meghan Markle’s mom to the bingo hall."
"It was a great time meeting the royal family and my mom was really excited about that," he recalled.
One of the fans shared a photo on Twitter of Anderson and his mother meeting the royal family.
On the work front, Anderson has been a regular on a popular TV series, "Black-ish," since 2014. Ahead of the final episode of the sitcom that is slated to drop this Tuesday, the actor shared how emotional he was about filming the final season.
"I did. I didn’t cry as much as Tracee Ellis Ross, though. She cried every day," he said. "Actually the last day I think I cried a little bit more than (Ross) did, and I didn’t think it was going to hit me the way that it did."
The actor explained that he was mentally prepared for the last day and the last scene. However, he still couldn't hold back his tears.
"Because we had been working up to that moment — we knew what the last day was," he added. "I had been prepping myself for it, and in the last scene on the last day is when I lost it, and it was unexpected for me."
"I didn’t expect to lose it the way that I did, but that just goes to show how much I love what I do [and] love doing it with the people that I did it with for the last eight years," he said.
Besides this series, Anderson has also been a regular on the "Law & Order" TV series since 2008.
