Anti-Masker Gets Punched For Pushing Elderly Customer After Being Denied Entry Into Restaurant [Video]
An angry anti-masker who pushed an elderly customer after being denied entry into a restaurant was knocked down by another diner with a single punch. The video of the incident has gone viral on social media, sparking discussions about similar instances of fights and disputes over mask mandates.
The video begins with the anti-masker yelling at the restaurant staff after he was asked to follow the mask mandate. The man accuses the employee of discrimination and shouts, "We're going to f--k your restaurant up!"
The restaurant staff keeps her cool and in response to the angry customer, she says, "It's a mandate!"
The man continues to yell and just when he was about to leave the restaurant he hears an elderly man saying, "Just leave, Sir."
The anti-masker then comes back and pushes the elderly man in anger before saying, "Don't get in my face!"
Many customers come in defense of the elderly customer and form a barrier between him and the assaulter.
The video then shows a man in a blue sweater jumping in from behind and punching the anti-masker in the face. The anti-masker gets floored and leaves the restaurant while complaining, "That's assault."
The video of the incident has since gone viral on social media, particularly on Twitter, drawing different kinds of reactions. Though some people believe the anti-marker got what he deserved, there are those who think violence can never be the answer.
"I don't care if you're pro mask or anti-masks. if you act and treat people like this you deserve to get punched in the face," a netizen wrote as they retweeted the video.
Another noted, "He totally deserved it!!! He assaulted that man. Another customer took care of the problem."
There remains a face mask divide within the U.S., with many disputes quickly escalating to violence. Mask wearing has even become "a catalyst for political conflict," according to a report from BBC News.
Earlier this month, videos of anti-maskers confronting and shouting at parents while they walked their children to a school in Beverly Hills went viral on social media. Some protestors even yelled, "You should choose what is on your child's body. This is rape."
