'Apex Legends': 'Quality of Life' Updates In Patch 1.1
Respawn Entertainment has just released new “quality of life” updates for “Apex Legends" in Patch 1.1. Players now have an easier way to connect with other players, mute players, and give out accurate reports to other players.
As seen on the official “Apex Legends” Reddit, the Patch 1.1 included an update which allows players to invite players they’ve recently met in matchmaking. After the match, players will see the strangers they’ve matched with in the left side of the screen. Clicking on them will invite them to your room. Doing this will turn your room into a pre-made team which grants a small boost to your team’s revive time and experience gain. While this is a trivial boost, each second counts if you’re aiming to survive longer in matches.
Another update is the Mute Squad feature that can be activated as early as the character select screen. At the press of a button specified at the lower right screen in character select, players can mute the whole squad. This feature is useful if the player doesn’t want to hear their teammates especially if they have bad voice chat output, or have a negative attitude to their teammates.
Lastly, the report system has also been improved as players can simply choose the “Cheat” and “Other” option if they want. In the past month, cheaters were rampant in “Apex Legends” as these players zoomed in to their enemies at unreactable speeds and shoot with impeccable aim.
Due to these cheaters, the playerbase almost left this battle royale as matches often turned into “hide-and-seek” games away from these cheaters. While the previous Season 1 major patch effectively quelled a lot of these players off the game, it still pays to prevent these players to coming back again through a bolstered report system.
As of now, “Apex Legends” is just few weeks in its first season of new content. The next content is slated to be released by June. Lastly, another character is also speculated to come out before the next Season comes out. For now, we’ll have to wait for more updates to see how “Apex Legends” improves itself further.
