Apple AirPods In Stock? Wireless iPhone Headphones Restock Not Expected Until June
If you want to pair your iPhone with Apple’s AirPod wireless earbuds, you’re out of luck for a while longer.
Despite being released last September, the wireless earbuds remain out of stock at online and brick-and-mortar retailers like Best Buy and Amazon. Through Apple, the AirPods still have an estimated six-week wait time for shipping and are out of stock at most Apple retail stores.

That said, Apple is aware of the shortages. A spokesperson told CNET the company is working to reload its inventory as soon as possible.
The AirPods, which retail for $159 and launched alongside the iPhone 7, are Apple’s first significant revamp to its flagship earbuds. The wireless earbuds are untethered units that fit into the ear without a connecting cable and come with a charging case. Apple says the AirPods can provide as long as five hours of listening time on a single charge.
Among Apple’s lineup, the AirPods are also a major part of the company’s push to validate dropping the headphone jack on the iPhone 7. Apple expects future smartphones not to include a headphone jack and needs effective wireless headphones to make it worthwhile.

The AirPods are also one of the few wireless headphones on the market that feature the company’s proprietary W1 chip. Other headphones that include the chip are the Beats Solo3, BeatsX and Beats PowerBeats3. While all the headphones are still based on standard Bluetooth technology and are compatible with other phones, W1-powered headphones like the AirPods have special features with Apple phones like auto-pairing.
