The wait for the next set of iPhones is almost over; a report Friday said Apple plans to announce its new smartphones along with a revamped Apple TV on Sept. 9.

The Cupertino, California, tech giant will host a press event the week of Sept. 9, according to BuzzFeed, which cited unnamed sources who are familiar with the company's plans. BuzzFeed speculates that Wednesday Sept. 9 will be the exact date since that is the same day Apple used for its iPhone event last year. However, Apple often announces its new iPhones with Tuesday events, which also makes Sept. 8 a strong possibility.

At the event, Apple is expected announce its new iPhone 6s models, which are expected to come with a new Force Touch display that gives users different options when they touch their smartphone screens, depending on how much pressure they apply. The devices will also include improved cameras and more powerful processors. Additionally, the company is expected to unveil its 2015 line of iPads, but it's unclear whether Apple will unveil its rumored and larger 12.9-inch iPad Pro, BuzzFeed said.

Aside from iPhones and iPads, Apple is also expected to use the event to announce an updated version of the Apple TV. The new Apple TV is expected to be slightly slimmer than the current model, and it's expected to come with an improved computer chip and a brand-new remote control that includes a touch pad. Additionally, the Apple TV will finally come equipped with its own app store. The last time Apple refreshed its streaming devices was in 2012.
