The newly announced Apple iPhone 6S Plus is available on preorders and its shipping will start from Sept. 25. The two major rivals for the iPhone 6S Plus are the Galaxy Note 5 that has already released in August and the Huawei Nexus 6 (2015) phablet that is slated to get announced on Sept. 29.
The Google Nexus 6 (2014) was criticized for its unwieldy size and huge price. Fresh reports suggest that the Huawei Nexus 6 (2015) will be launched with the Huawei Nexus 6P moniker and it will be coming out with cheaper price tag. Here is the comparison of the specifications, features, and price of the upcoming Huawei Nexus 6P with that of the iPhone 6S Plus:
Design And Display
The Apple iPhone 6S Plus sports a complete metal unibody. It measures 158.2 x 79 x 7.3 mm and weighs 192 grams. It comes in color options like space gray, silver, gold, and rose gold. The new improved Touch ID fingerprint sensor is placed beneath the Home button.
According a tweet from the famous leakster, @OnLeaks, the Huawei Nexus 6P is likely to arrive with full metal body. It measures 159.4 x 87.3 x 6.6/8.5 mm. The front panel features dual stereo speakers. The rear features a raise camera module and a fingerprint sensor below it.
The iPhone 6S Plus supports full HD resolution of 1920 x 1080 pixels on its 5.5-inch display with a pixel density of 401 ppi. One of the major salient features of the phablet from Apple is that its display is enabled with 3D Touch feature that can differentiate between deeper and lighter taps on the screen.
The Huawei Nexus 6P is likely to be arriving with a 5.7-inch display that will support Quad HD resolution of 1440 x 2560 pixels. It will support a pixel count of 515 ppi, Phone Arena reported.
Chipset, RAM And Storage
According to Mobi Picker, the Apple A9 chip that features a dual-core CPU that clocks at 1.8 GHz powers up the iPhone 6S Plus along with 2 GB of RAM. It lacks a microSD slot but comes in storage options such as 16 GB, 32 GB and 128 GB.
The controversial Snapdragon 810 chip will be powering the Huawei Nexus 6P. The Nexus phablet is likely to feature an enhanced version of the Snapdragon 810 that will not suffer from poor performance because of thermal overheating problems. Its octa-core processor will clock at 1.9 GHz along with Adreno 430 graphics.
The SD 810 chip will be accompanies by 3 GB of LPDDR4 RAM. It also lacks a microSD slot, but is likely to come in multiple storage variants like 32 GB, 64 GB and 128 GB, Android Police reported.
Camera, Software And Connectivity
The iPhone 6S Plus features a 12-megapixel camera that comes with versatile features such as support for 4K resolution video capturing, optical image stabilization (OIS) and dual-LED flash. The selfie camera available on the device is of 5-megapixel. When a photo is snapped using the front camera, the screen brightens up to three times to function as flash. This feature is dubbed as Retina flash.
The iOS 9 operating system is available preloaded on the iPhone 6S Plus. The handset features the Cat. 6 LTE modem from Qualcomm that delivers download and upload speeds of up to 300 Mbps and 50 Mbps, respectively. It comes with other connectivity features like Wi-Fi, 3G, aGPS, and GLONASS
The Huawei Nexus 6P is rumored to feature a 13-megapixel camera on its rear and a front-facing camera of 5-megapixel. The rear shooter will be enabled with features like laser auto-focus, 4K video shooting, and dual-LED flash.
The Huawei Nexus 6P will arrive preinstalled with Android 6.0 Marshmallow. It will carry native support for fingerprint recognition and a new mobile payment service called Android Pay. It is expected to feature Cat. 9 LTE modem that will offer faster download and speeds of up to 450 Mbps and 100 Mbps. Apart from the other connectivity features, it also features a USB Type-C connector.
Battery, Price And Availability
The Apple iPhone 6S Plus is packed with a non-replaceable battery of 2,750 mAh capacity. The Huawei Nexus 6 (2015) is speculated to arrive with a massive non-replaceable battery of 3,500 mAh capacity. It is expected to carry support for wireless charging and fast charging. The iPhone 6S Plus lacks wireless charging.
The iPhone 6S Plus was launched alongside the 4.7-inch iPhone 6S on Sept. 9. The preorders of both the devices began on Sept. 12 and the shipping process is going to start from Sept. 25. The 16 GB iPhone 6S Plus carries an off-contract price of $749. The 64 GB and 128 GB models are available with off-contract prices of $849 and $949, respectively.
