Apple Launches watchOS 8.0.1, iOS 15.0.2 To Address Watch Series 3, iPhone 13 Bugs

Apple has rolled out watchOS 8.0.1 and iOS 15.0.2, which aim to fix Apple Watch Series 3 and iPhone 13 bugs, respectively.

WatchOS 8.0.1, which was launched alongside iOS 15.0.2 Monday, weighs 125 megabytes. Though it is considered a minor update and does not come with a lot of new features, it promises to improve the performance of Apple Watch Series 3, reported Apple Insider.

Unfortunately, the watchOS 8 that was launched in September brought several issues to some Apple Watch Series 3 owners. They reportedly experienced problems, such as the unavailability of accurate software update progress display as well as missing Accessibility settings on their devices. The Cupertino tech giant released the latest update to primarily address these bugs.

WatchOS 8.0.1 will download and install automatically for Apple Watches whose Automatic Update settings have been activated. Wearers may also choose to update their Apple Watches using their iPhones. All they have to do is head over to the My Watch option on their iPhones, select General, choose Software Update and click on Download and Install.

There are several things an Apple Watch user must take note of when updating their wearable device. First, their smartwatch must be within the Wi-Fi range of the host iPhone. The device should also have enough battery power when performing the update.

If the update is done during the smartwatch's charging period, the Apple Watch should have its battery charged at least half of its full capacity before performing the update.

As for iOS 15.0.2, it brings fixes to the current iOS 15 bugs on iPhone 13. Though the latest iPhone update introduces several improvements on the devices, its primary focus is on patching the bugs, GSM Arena said in a report.

The issues it addresses include the failure of device restore or update when using iTunes or Finder and the inability of MagSafe-equipped iPhone Leather Wallet to connect to Find My.

It also fixes the AirTag issue which keeps it from appearing in the Find My Items tab, as well as the failure of CarPlay to launch audio apps or disconnect during playback.
