Apple Releasing Red iPhone XS In Attempt To Uplift Struggling Sales
New iPhone XS and XS Max units will reportedly be sold in China by the end of February. These units will be in a color called “China Red” and are said to be Apple’s attempt to boost sales in the country. Here’s what we know about this new release.
According to MacRumors, the new “China Red” variant will be released by the end of February. Most of Apple’s red device releases are part of their efforts to contribute to HIV research. This information was from a leaker who had access to information from Apple’s supply chain stores.
Previously, Apple released red variants for the iPhone 7 and 8 in the middle of the phone’s prime before the iPhone X arrived last 2017 and 2018.
It’s highly possible that Apple will push the new red iPhone XS and XS Max in China soon to boost their sales before the new smartphone releases from other developers come out later this year. With those releases, it’ll definitely bury Apple’s sales further if they don’t have something new to show its Chinese fans. We’ll have to wait for more information from Apple to know what they’re up to by the end of February.
As of now, Apple has yet to officially stance itself with selling new devices this 2019. In CES 2019, they made it clear that the company will focus more on providing services rather than new devices.
The next Apple event this March will also be focused on their improved services, but many fans and industry sources speculated that Apple may introduce a new device during this event too. Potentially, the American release of this red iPhone XS could be discussed in the event as well. Moreover, other devices like the AirPods 2, AirPower charging mat and the 2019 iPhone generation could also be unveiled, or at least teased, as early as March.
For now, we’ll have to wait for Apple to see if they’re planning to announce anything this 2019 or just start talking about the new devices when they are ready and shipped internationally.
