Apple Watch Rumor: Alleged New Leather Loop Design Leaked

Images showing a supposed new design for the Apple Watch's Leather Loop have leaked online, giving people a glimpse at what to expect for Apple's highly acclaimed wearable.

Apple has been selling leather loops for the Apple Watch, with four different colors to choose from. A leak from a Reddit user, however, shows that users of the wearable might soon be able to get their hands on more colors, and a new design.

According to images uploaded by a Redditor to Imgur, Apple is working on a new kind of leather loop that looks more breathable than the current model. The new leather loops, which according to the leaker is meant for the Applw Watch Series 6, look similar to the current models being sold, but there are a few distinguishable differences between them.

First, the new leather loop comes in new color options which include red, light blue, and pink. There are also a few models that feature different-colored edges. For example, a leather loop in saddle brown color has white running around the edges.

Second, the quilted leather design looks slightly different from the older models. 9To5Mac said they look “more sporty” than the original. There's also the absence of a hole where one side passes through. They still have magnets that will connect both sides to one another.

9To5Mac said Apple could be redesigning the leather loop so that it would look more versatile and appealing to a wider audience, particularly those who prefer to use the Sport Loop or Sport Band. These other Apple Watch straps indeed have a more versatile look compared to the original leather loop.

It's also possible that Cupertino is redesigning the leather loop to be waterproof and more fitness oriented than before. This means the new leather loop could remain functional and stylish regardless of the setting: whether in the office, in the gym, or at the mall.

It's currently unclear when will Apple reveal the new leather loops for the world to see. A “tipster” reportedly told 9To5Mac that the new leather loop could be revealed as soon as next month. This, of course, isn't confirmed and should be taken with a grain of salt.
