Apple Watch Series 5 Price, Features: Smartwatch Will Be Mac Compatible?
We could be getting an early look at the much-awaited Apple Watch Series 5 this June at the Apple World Wide Developers Conference, since analysts expect that the Cupertino company would be making announcements of the next watch OS that could power the smartwatch.
There are still months to go before the supposed official launch of the Apple Watch 5, but we’re already hearing a lot of news on what the new functions could be. We’re pretty sure that news of the next version of the Apple smartwatch being more focused on health functions is accurate.
Apple could be coming up with a reliable health tool that’s not only capable of measuring the wearer’s heart rate, but might be also used to track one’s sleeping habits, determine blood sugar levels and even detect poisonous gases in the atmosphere. If that’s not enough, news that the next Apple Watch would be capable of measuring blood pressure is also starting to make rounds.
With the imminent announcement of the presumed next watchOS, there’s a very big possibility as well that the next Apple Watch will have its own Watch Store. If this comes into fruition, then the smartwatch could finally be independent of the iPhone, giving users of other smartphone brands the choice to purchase one of the industry’s best-selling smartwatches.
Now new information shows another exciting feature for the next Apple Watch: Mac authentication. Per Business Insider, there’s a possibility that the next Apple Watch can be used to unlock Mac computers without having to type the password.
The news, which was first released by 9to5 Mac, said it would be possible to use the Apple Watch 5 for certain functions of the computer. How this will be done is not yet sure, but it could work similarly to Touch ID. If true, then the next watch will have biometric functions that would allow users to authenticate identities for transactions like Apple Pay purchases by simply tapping on the Apple Watch.
This type of compatibility function may seem too advanced at the moment, but we won’t be surprised if something like this can indeed be expected among Apple’s excellent gadgets.
For the price, a gadget with these capabilities will surely sell at a premium although some expect that it would still be somewhere around the range of the current model at $399
