While Apple Watches are great smart devices, they are still vulnerable to simple problems such as forgetten security codes and software issues. If users experience these problems, they have an option to reset their device to fix things. Here’s how to reset the Apple Watch.

If you need to reset your Apple Watch right away, your iPhone can help you out. On your smartwatch, go to the “My Watch” menu once tapping the top of the Apple Watch screen.

Once inside, access the “I” button near the Apple Watch button and press the “Unpair Apple Watch” option.

The Watch will then ask for the owner’s iCloud details, which you should then enter. This will fully remove the link between the iPhone and Apple Watch. Once unlinked, resetting it can be done through the General menu of the Settings.

Press the “Erase All Content And Settings” and you’re good to go. The reset is often done to scrub the device of personal details if the owner is planning to solve a security problem, slow down issue or planning to sell the device.

There are also other ways to erase personal settings on the Apple Watch. If you only have the Apple Watch, resetting it is still possible.

Connect the Apple Watch to its charger and hold down the Side button. Once the Power menu shows up, hold down the Power Off button until it turns into the “Erase All Content and Setting” button. This option would scrub your Apple Watch of personal settings and details again.

However, not all Apple Watch problems are solved with a reset. Sometimes, it just needs a reboot instead. To do the reboot, hold down the Digital Crown and Side button simultaneously for 10 seconds until the Apple logo shows up. The reboot can help solve any bugs and issues that your device is currently having.

If rebooting and removing data from the device do not work, it’s best to consult your nearest Apple store to have it fixed.
