Apple's High-End Over-Ear Headphones With AirPods Features Leaked
KEY POINTS
- iOS 14 contains icons indicating that Apple is working on new headphones
- This might be what Ming-Chi Kuo predicted some time ago
- The new headphones will offer some of the AirPods' features
The iOS 14 code reveals that Apple is planning to release an all-new audio accessory that fans will be interested in.
Previously, noted analyst Ming-Chi Kuo, known for his accurate predictions when it comes to Apple's products, said that Cupertino will soon launch a new “High-end Bluetooth headphone.” He didn't specify what kind of device this will be, and neither did he mention anything about its specs. All he said is that it will be launched in the first half of 2020.
Now, a new report reveals that Apple is indeed planning on launching a new pair of headphones that it has never did before. According to 9To5Mac, the iOS 14 code includes two icons representing two versions of Cupertino's high-end headphones.
The two icons indicate that Apple's new yet-unnamed high-end headphones will come in two colors: a lighter colored version, and a darker colored version. The light colored version appears to have dark colored ear cushions while the dark colored version has lighter colored cushions.
It's unclear as to what these actual colors are, but 9To5Mac speculates that Apple will offer its high-end headphones in black or space gray and white. It's also possible that Apple could use different colors for the unnamed Bluetooth headphones. Regardless, this weill be a welcome change from the usual white color that the AirPods and AirPods Pro come in.
Features
Now, the iOS 14 icons do not reveal anything about the device's features. Fans, however, can expect Apple's new high-end headphones to offer some of the AirPods' and AirPods Pro's features. Apple has given various Beats products some of the AirPods and AirPods Pro's feature, and fans can expect the same from the new headphones.
For example, the new headphones might have the ability to automatically pause and continue playback depending on whether the user wears them or not, similar to how the AirPods pause and resume music playback when a piece is taken off the ears.
The device's charging features remain unknown at the moment. It might be charged using a wired charger, similar to how the Beats headphones are charged.
Also, it's worth noting that the new audio accessory is an over-ear headphone, which naturally allows for greater sound isolation, resulting in a generally better audio experience. This is just speculation, but Apple just might add the AirPods Pro's active noise cancellation feature to it since it's a "high-end" device.
