Are Flamin' Hot Cheetos Safe? Rapper Lil Xan Issues Warning After Hospitalization
Rapper Lil Xan has issued a warning about Flamin' Hot Cheetos after he was hospitalized due to too much consumption of the snack. The rapper, whose real name is Diego Leanos, gave details of what he went through after eating Flamin Hot Cheetos.
"I was in the hospital, not doing any drugs, but I guess I ate, uh, too many Hot Cheetos and it ... ripped something in my stomach open, so I puked a little blood," he said with a laugh in a video posted on Instagram.
“Also be careful, Hot Cheetos are one hell of a drug aha!” Lil Xan stressed in the video caption.
Social media users responded to the scary situation in the comments section.
"Man I eat hot Cheetos almost all the time," one user wrote.
Another urged caution, telling Lil Xan, "Bro you gotta be safe with them hot Cheetos too. Be safe with everything you put in your body homie."
“Glad you are okay! Those hot Cheetos don’t play _” a supporter told Lil Xan.
Lil Xan showed off his hospital bracelet in the video. He also assured fans the health scare wouldn’t get in the way of his upcoming tour set to kick off in New York on Thursday.
This was not the first time Flamin Hot Cheetos caused health concerns.
In July, a mother blamed snacks including Hot Cheetos for her daughter's gallbladder surgery. Rene Craighead of Memphis, Tennessee, claimed her 17-year-old daughter consumed around four “big” bags of hot snacks a week.
At the time, Frito-Lay told local media WREG its products meet safety standards.
