Are Kate Middleton And Meghan Markle In A Competition With Each Other?

Kate Middleton’s rumored drama with Meghan Markle appears to have made its way to Instagram, recent activity suggests. The two Duchesses have been engaged in a supposed unspoken rivalry since Markle entered the royal spotlight.

The mutual rivalry, according to Page Six, may have been the biggest catalyst for Megxit to occur, with the Middleton and Markle competition reaching a boiling point. Similarly, their respective husbands, Prince William and Prince Harry, have reportedly also been feuding.

In a post shared Jan. 22 to the Sussex royal Instagram page, Markle visited Mayhew, a community dedicated to providing care for animals in need, earlier this month. This confused many users, as the Duke and Duchess of Sussex recently announced they would leave her royal duties behind. The post specified that the event occurred earlier this month.

According to U.K. newspaper The Times, the post brought Prince Harry and Markle’s shared Instagram page up to 11,032,000 followers, which beats out Prince William and Middleton’s Cambridge Instagram account for the first time ever.

It was also notably soon after Duchess Middleton made a similar post about her own charity, one dedicated to the welfare of children, just an hour prior.

This has led many people to believe that this was a competitive move coming directly from Markle herself, showing off her own Duchess duties, even if it was from an earlier time. The Mayhew event took place when Markle and Harry had returned from Canada to the U.K. to spend time with the royal family during the holiday season.

Despite Megxit and the fact that Markle and Prince Harry have left the country to spend more of their time in Canada, many people believe that the supposed latest online “competition” between the Duchesses suggests that tensions continue rising between the two royal couples.
