Are Kate Middleton And Meghan Markle Friends Or Foes?

Kate Middleton and Meghan Markle may be family by marriage, but are they actually friends? Amid feud rumors, let’s take a look at the two royals and their relationship behind palace doors.

It took some time for Catherine, Duchess of Cambridge to talk about her relationship with Meghan, who is now the Duchess of Sussex. The two reportedly first met at Kensington Palace last January. At the time, a source revealed to The Sun that Kate was looking forward to meeting her brother-in-law Prince Harry’s partner, and added that their introduction “went well.”

After Harry and Meghan confirmed their engagement in November 2017, Kate and her husband Prince William, Duke of Cambridge, immediately gushed about the pair’s impending nuptials. Separately, Kate shared her own feelings on the news.

“William and I are absolutely thrilled. It’s such exciting news. It’s a really happy time for any couple and we wish them all the best and hope they enjoy this happy moment,” Kate said during one outing.

The following month, when the royal family appeared outside St. Mary Magdalene church for Christmas service, a body language expert examined photos of Meghan and Kate. Expert Blanca Cobb told Cosmopolitan that women both sported genuine smiles and saw “no signs of animosity or rivalry among the women.”

A separate body language expert, Judi James, said the pair also exuded positivity when they appeared together at the Royal Foundation Forum in February.

Most recently, Kate and Meghan were rumored to have feuded prior and Meghan and Harry’s May nuptials. Their “explosive row,” according to The Sun, stemmed from Kate allegedly telling Meghan off for berating members of her staff. A Kensington Palace staff member denied the event ever occurred.

While rumors continue to run rampant about a potential feud between the two royals, Middleton was recently spotted saying a friendly comment about her sister-in-law. While outside of the University of Leicester late last month, Kate said she was excited for her new niece or nephew to arrive. Prince Harry and Meghan are expecting their first child this spring.

"Yeah, absolutely,” one Instagram user captured the Duchess saying. “It’s such a special time to have little kiddies and a cousin for George and Charlotte and Louis! It’s really special."

While it appears time will tell how Meghan and Kate’s relationship evolves, it is known that Meghan and Harry will be living apart from the rest of the royal family soon. The newlyweds are relocating from Nottingham Cottage in London to Frogmore Cottage in Windsor, England. Their new cottage is said to have been a gift from Queen Elizabeth II.
