Are Liam Hemsworth, Miley Cyrus Engaged? ‘Hunger Games’ Star Responds To Rumors After First Public Appearance

For months, Miley Cyrus has been sporting her old 3.5-carat engagement ring, fueling speculation that she and on-again-off-again boyfriend Liam Hemsworth are engaged once more. It seems, however, that she and the “Hunger Games” actor may not be on the same page about where their relationship is headed.

Hemsworth, 26, was asked about his girlfriend’s marital bling during an interview with Australia’s TV Week on March 31. Surprisingly, he claimed it isn’t what it looks like. The youngest of the Hemsworth brothers told the publication that he and Cyrus, 23, won’t be heading down the aisle anytime soon. He did not, however, deny it's the same ring he popped the question with in 2012.

“I am not engaged, no,” he said.

They may not be engaged, but they are certainly back on. Hemsworth and Cyrus made their first appearance as a couple on April 12 at the Hollywood premiere of Chris Hemsworth’s film, “The Huntsman.” After the big event, the “Wrecking Ball” singer was spotted clinging to her man as they headed to dinner at Baltaire restaurant in Los Angeles. Sources told Entertainment Tonight that the pair — joined by several guests — were seen “having a good time” during their meal.

Relationship rumors began swirling once more in December 2015. The following month, Liam’s brother Chris was asked about a potential relationship brewing between he and Cyrus during the Tourism Australia gala. He told the publication he was “happy” to see Liam happy — no matter the reason for his smiles. He claimed that he was unable to provide confirmation but said that his brother is “smart” and “happy.”

Cyrus and her beau split in September 2013 after four years together. During their time apart, both dated other people. In December 2014, Cyrus was linked to Patrick Schwarzenegger, with many reporting that the pair was considering taking their relationship to the next level. She is also thought to have briefly dated “Twilight” actor Kellan Lutz. Liam was linked to both Eiza Gonzalez and “Mad Men” actress January Jones.
