Are Maks And Meryl Dating? Why ‘DWTS’ Team Should Be A Couple In Instagram Posts Alone [POLL]
There is usually one or more rumors about a pro dancer dating his contestant almost every season of “Dancing with the Stars.” For Season 18, everyone’s attention seems to be focused on Maksim Chmerkovskiy and 2014 Sochi Olympic gold medalist Meryl Davis. So are they or aren’t they dating? The real answer many think is, if they aren’t, they should be!
From their first moment in front of the “DWTS” cameras, most viewers thought the two had instant chemistry. Though it could have been the show’s producers that made him ask whether or not Davis was dating skate partner and fellow “DWTS” contestant Charlie White, he seemed pretty relieved when she said the two weren’t an item.
Chmerkovskiy took a hiatus before he returned for Season 18, but when he came back to the ABC reality dance series he seemed to have a more light-hearted demeanor, and many believe it is the 27-year-old athlete who has been able to bring out the softer side of the Ukrainian-Latin dancer. Before Season 18, Chmerkovskiy would probably never have been described as “goofy” or “silly,” but while he’s been coupled with Davis he’s posted playful posts to social media.
The two had their first fight and instead of it tearing them apart they grew closer together. Davis was able to calm him down and tap in to what was really bothering Chmerkovskiy.
To spice up the season, the contestants exchanged partners for one week. Davis was paired with Chmerkovskiy’s brother Val, and he seemed really jealous.
If all these reasons aren’t good or apparent enough, there’s their tango to “Feel So Close” by Calvin Harris, which earned them a perfect score of 40 out of 40 from the judges. Their performance has been posted below:
The next episode of "Dancing with the Stars" will air on ABC Monday at 8/7c. Next week's guest judge will be none other than "Dance Moms" instructor Abby Lee Miller, whose harsh tactics have apparently been condemned by the likes of Derek Hough and Mark Ballas in the past. Tune in the catch the presumed drama.
